Ganvya
Terms and conditions
Effective 27 October 2026
These terms cover this site and the free tools at https://etools.ganvya.com. Both are operated by Ganvya.
1. Agreement
By using either site you agree to these terms, the privacy policy, the cookie notice, and the licensing page. If you do not agree, do not use the sites.
The licensing page states what you may do with the sites and with eTools. These terms state the conditions around that use. If they conflict on a licence question, the licensing page prevails. If they conflict on any other question, these terms prevail.
2. The company site
The pages describe Ganvya, its products, and its services. They are information. They are not an offer, a quotation, or a contract to do work.
A project starts only when both sides agree to it in writing. That agreement controls the project. If it conflicts with these terms, the project agreement prevails for that work.
3. Marketplace
The marketplace lists software, apps, websites, and games. Each listing states its status, including beta, a free trial, free, or paid.
A free or free-trial listing may be used as that page and the licensing page describe. A paid listing is available only on the terms and price agreed before you pay. A description on this site is not a licence to paid software, and it is not a promise that a paid product is on sale.
At 27 October 2026, the marketplace lists eTools. It is newly launched, in beta, and free to use. No paid product is offered on that date.
4. eTools
eTools at etools.ganvya.com is in beta and free to use, including for work you do for a client. You do not need an account. What that licence allows, and what it does not, is set out on the licensing page.
Tools can change, be added, or be removed. A result can be wrong. Check it before you rely on it, including before you send a document to someone else. You keep the files you create.
5. Engineering calculators
The engineering and construction calculators are planning aids. They use the assumptions written on each page, including a steel density of 7850 kg/m³ where a weight is shown. Lap and development lengths are the multiple of bar diameter you enter. Deflection, torque, and weld results use the formula on the page. The bar bending schedule totals the marks, diameters, and lengths you type.
None of these tools is a structural design, a code check, a specification, or a quotation. Confirm quantities against the drawings, and have a qualified person check anything that will be built.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- disrupt, overload, or attempt to break the sites
- probe, scan, or test them for weaknesses without our written permission
- use them to break the law, or to harm another person
- copy the sites or the tools and present them as your own product
- use the names Ganvya or eTools for your own product, or imply that we made or endorse your work
- sell, sublicense, or frame access to eTools
- send malware, or attempt to take data that is not yours
- scrape the sites in a way that degrades them
We may suspend or block access that breaks these rules.
7. Your material
What you type into eTools, and the files you open there, stay on your device. We do not ask you to upload them to use the tools.
If you email us, or use the contact form, we use that message to reply and to handle the work you asked about. Do not send confidential drawings or personal data you do not need us to have until a project is agreed.
A message you send is not confidential, and it does not create a contract, unless we have agreed to that in writing. Do not send material you have no right to share.
8. Intellectual property
The Ganvya name, the eTools name, the marks, the site design, and the text on these sites belong to Ganvya, except where a page says otherwise. The licensing page states the use that is allowed.
Rights in a client project are set by the agreement for that project. These terms do not assign those rights.
9. Other sites
Links to etools.ganvya.com and to other sites are governed by those sites. We are not responsible for a third party's site, or for a product we did not make.
10. Availability
We may change, suspend, or withdraw either site, or any tool, for maintenance, a fault, or a product change. We do not promise uninterrupted access, or that a tool will keep its current behaviour.
11. Warranties
The sites and the tools are provided as they are and as available. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties that they are accurate, complete, fit for a particular purpose, or free of errors.
Rights that cannot be excluded under the law of Sri Lanka remain in force.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ganvya is not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the sites or the tools, or from being unable to use them.
Our total liability arising from the free sites and tools, for claims in any 12-month period, is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us for that use in those 12 months and LKR 10,000.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law of Sri Lanka does not allow us to limit, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
A paid product or a client project is limited by the agreement for that product or project, not by the cap in this section.
You will cover us for a claim by a third party that arises from your misuse of the sites, from material you had no right to send, or from your breach of these terms, except to the extent we caused that claim.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page will change. If you keep using the sites after that date, you accept the updated terms. An update does not change a project agreement already in place.
14. General
These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka. The courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction.
If a clause cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor of this business, or to a company that takes on the sites.
These terms, the privacy policy, the cookie notice, and the licensing page are the whole agreement for use of the sites. A project agreement, where one exists, is the whole agreement for that project.
